A BIT ABOUT ME
Hello! Below is a bit about my background. I am excited to get to know you if my work resonates.

I have worked in the environmental field for 15+ years and I am currently one of three founding Principals at the Blackland Collaborative, Inc doing ecological consulting to improve ecosystem function for a variety of landscape based projects. Before this, I worked as the Conservation Director at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. I oversaw the management of the site’s ecosystems and the landscape implementation of the master plan construction to increase biodiversity and ecosystem resilience in response to climatic disasters. Before working at the Arboretum, I worked as a Senior Environmental Designer and Consulting Manager at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX on numerous ecological projects. My academic background is in Sociology, Physical Geography, and Landscape Architecture. I am passionate about restoring human’s connection with nature and demonstrating that we have the capacity to increase ecological health and therefore our own.
I have discovered, through my own inner work and personal journey, my resilience and found a wealth of opportunities for further self-discovery. When I was young, my father died rather suddenly. This deep loss has been part of my wounded healer path. I felt so alone, hurt, and rejected. With a child mind, I thought it was about me. I have grown from this experience. I continue to heal and learn from my hurt places. During this time, I spent most of my time by myself in the woods. It was where I felt safe. It was the winter when he passed. A few months later, I remember seeing from underneath crunchy leaves on the ground a cluster of curled bright green ferns. Instinctually, I knew the lesson. I felt it in my heart and body. I was not alone. I was part of something greater. Something loving and beautiful- something infinite. Spring and summer will come again. I am resilient and so are you.

I have had many years of traditional therapy and feel its important to continue to do my work as I hold space for others. In addition, I am a certified Kundalini yoga instructor, studied with Christelle Chopard in the Dharmi Method for 8+ years, graduated from a 9 month Regenerative Leadership Program (an ecopsychology based program, called Joyality), lead meditation classes through the University of Texas continuing education program and informally for mothers, co-workers, students, and friends, graduated from a three month intensive Awakened Motherhood course with Honor Genetski and then followed with a year and half of training in the alumni program Oasis, trained with Rachel Archeialias in the Intuitive Artist Academy, trained with Roxanne Miranda in Manifest and Thrive program and alumni program, attends regular Continuum body movement retreats and workshops, attended a Vision Quest in Chile with Condor Blanco, and has a rich daily meditation practice of connecting to source. I am also a mother of two wonderful spirited children. My family and nature are my greatest teachers and where I love to be most.
